Y Dderwen’s Curriculum enthuses all pupils, giving them the foundation they need to succeed in a changing world.

Our aim is to foster a love of learning which will be a solid foundation for them throughout their lives.

OUR CURRICULUM VISION

The welfare of our pupils is at the heart of our curriculum. The vision of our curriculum is rooted in the values ​​and culture of Wales. The development of literacy and numeracy is at its core, alongside developing the qualities for children to be good learners, as these are the essential life skills for all children to be able to access learning in the future.

Our children learn best through practical learning opportunities; these enable them to experience learning in a meaningful way that reflects their interests and needs.

We tailor learning to give children opportunities to develop skills and explore concepts. These will enable them to build their knowledge and understanding through texts that will capture their interest and stimulate their imagination. They will develop the confidence to make decisions and we trust that we can give all pupils the knowledge, skills and qualities for the challenges of the future as lifelong learners.
